Cancelling and refunds
Last updated 16 October 2026
This page says when you pay for a visit, what you get back if it is cancelled, and how the money reaches you.
Paying
- You pay for a visit in full when you book it, on this site. The payment is taken by a payment company on CareBee's behalf, and the visit is booked once it has gone through.
- The price is shown before you pay. Where tax applies it is added to the price, and shown too.
- Pay only on this site. Do not pay your caregiver in cash or in any other way.
If you cancel
You can cancel a booking yourself at any time before the visit starts.
- No caregiver has accepted yet: all of what you paid goes back, whenever you cancel.
- A caregiver has accepted, and it is 4 hours or more before the visit starts: all of it goes back.
- A caregiver has only just accepted: for the first 5 minutes after she accepts, all of it goes back, as long as she has not set off.
- A caregiver has accepted, and it is less than 4 hours before the visit starts: 50% of the visit's price is kept and the rest goes back. The caregiver kept that time free for you, and is paid from what is kept.
- The visit's time has come and your caregiver has not set off: all of it goes back. You can cancel from the app or the website.
- Your caregiver is already on the way: the visit can no longer be cancelled from the app or the website. If you need to call it off, call CareBee: nothing goes back. The same holds if she comes and nobody is at home.
What you paid to change the time of a visit, after the free changes, is kept whenever you cancel it, and goes back when CareBee cancels it.
Before you cancel, the booking tells you exactly what would be kept and what would come back at that moment, and why.
A visit booked to start within 4 hours is always inside that time, so once a caregiver has accepted it, cancelling costs you part or all of what you paid, after the first 5 minutes.
Your booking keeps the rules in force on the day you booked it. If CareBee changes them later, the change applies only to bookings made after it.
If the visit does not happen
- If no caregiver takes your request in time, all of what you paid goes back.
- If CareBee cancels your visit, all of it goes back. A visit CareBee cancels on your behalf, because you rang to cancel it or nobody was at home, counts as your own cancellation.
- If the visit can no longer be booked by the time your payment arrives, for example because its time has passed, nothing is booked and all of it goes back.
If you change a visit
- If you make a visit shorter, the difference in price goes back to you, with its tax.
- If you make a visit longer, you pay the difference first, and the visit is moved once that payment has arrived. If it cannot be moved after all, that payment goes back to you in full and your visit stays as it was.
- Once a caregiver has accepted and the visit is less than 4 hours away, it can still be made longer, but not moved to another time or made shorter. Call CareBee if you need to.
If a visit was not as it should have been
Tell CareBee within 24 hours of the end of the visit: report it from the booking, or contact CareBee. CareBee looks at each case, and may give back all or part of what you paid.
How money comes back
- It goes back to where you paid from: the same card, bank account or UPI ID.
- CareBee sends it as soon as it is owed, and tells you. It then takes 5 to 10 business days to reach you, which is the time banks take.
- Your booking shows what was paid, what was kept and what is going back.
Questions
If money you expected has not reached you, or anything here is unclear, contact CareBee. The rest of the rules for using CareBee are in the terms of use.
